microsoft / playwright · Issue No. 42084
Agents are cool and all, but sometimes a deterministic simple quick start CLI and some manual configuration and control is nice, it would be nice to have a simple CLI to bootstrap the basic files needed for the new Playwright CT.
pnpm playwright setup-ct
It's still nice to have manual templates and to be able to configure things directly instead of always relying on agents. Being able to do so also helps to reason better about the setup and be able to instruct the agent to correct or adjust things so they work optimally in more complex projects.
P.S. If the tech debt is ever prioritized on my companies side I will probably want to have an agent do the migration of our old experimental-ct tests to the new setup, I haven't tried how well the current agent skill works with that.

The full analysis for this issue is still being assembled. Until then, the description above and the thread on GitHub are the most reliable context.
